Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to The Daily Mail that Mousa Dembele could miss this weekend’s game against West Bromwich Albion.

Spurs will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on West Brom away from home at The Hawthorns in the Premier League.

Pochettino has suggested that Belgium international midfielder Dembele will miss the match.

The 29-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during the Premier League game against Sunderland in September.

“He had a minor problem in his hamstring against Sunderland,” Pochettino told The Daily Mail about Dembele. “Then it was good but he got a knock in his foot — an old problem — and now he’s recovering from that. It’s minor but it’s painful for him. When he touches the ball, it’s painful.”

Pochettino has also given an update on the injury situation of Tottenham striker Harry Kane.

The England international has not featured in a competitive match since suffering ankle ligaments injury against Sunderland last month.

The 23-year-old looks set to return to training next week, with The Daily Mail claiming that the striker could be fit in time to face Arsenal away from home at the Emirates Stadium in North London derby in November.

“He’s very positive, he’s doing well,” Pochettino told The Daily Mail about Kane. “Next week we hope he’ll be training on the pitch — not with the group but on the grass a little bit — but we’re happy.”

Tottenham are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from seven matches, just a point behind leaders Manchester City.

The North London outfit are aiming to win the league title this season.
