Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of reinforcements.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday, ahead of his side’s clash with Fulham tomorrow, and insisted that Harry Kane’s injury and Heung-Min Son’s absence will not force him to bring in another forward this month, although he did admit that if the right player becomes available, he will act, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs currently sit in third position in the Premier League table, and they are also actively involved in all three cup competitions, so losing Kane and Son has come at the worst possible time for Pochettino.
Kane’s untimely injury has led to Tottenham being linked with a whole host of strikers, but January is never an easy month to bring new players in.
Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, and responded when asked whether his transfer plans have been affected by recent events, as quoted by Football.London:

“No. I think it’s not going to change our mind about the view of the squad. Always we’re open to improving our squad. We know very well the market now is so difficult, and the circumstance that we have. Of course, like always I tell you, if we identify the player that is going to help us and can add qualities that we don’t have in the squad, we’re more than open to trying [to make] that happen.”
Tottenham are currently nine points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, and if they are to have any chance fo winning the league, Pochettino will surely need to bring in at least one world-class signing this month.
As things stand, however, and judging by the Argentine’s comments, that doesn’t seem to very likely.
