Tottenham Hotspur signed Victor Wanyama and Moussa Sissoko among other players in the summer transfer window.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has explained to The Daily Mail why players want to join the North London club.
The Premier League outfit signed Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen, Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and Moussa Sissoko in the summer transfer window.
Spurs also recruited Pau Lopez on a season-long loan deal from Espanyol, while Juan Pablo Gonzalez Velasco joined the club’s Under-18 group.
Pochettino has explained why players are so willing to move to Tottenham. The Argentine boss believes that players are choosing Spurs over their rivals for love, not money.
“Our power is not on the financial side,” Pochettino told The Daily Mail. “Our power is our facilities, the way we play, it is in the way our supporters show passion.
“I think Tottenham is a very big club for players that have passion and want to play not only for money but to achieve things and enjoy football.
“Maybe we need to ask people outside Tottenham, but we feel inside that in the last (transfer window) Tottenham is a very special team for players who want to enjoy football.
“I can tell you that the players we have are not motivated only for money. That is very important. They feel they want to play for Tottenham.”
Tottenham are one of the biggest clubs of England and are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
The North London outfit finished as high as third in the league table during the 2015-16 campaign.
Pochettino’s side will feature in the Champions League this season, and there is a very good chance that they will progress to the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition.
Tottenham will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Stoke City away from home at Bet365 Stadium in the Premier League.
