Toby Alderweireld featured in Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion.

Alderweireld featured for Tottenham in the Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion away from home at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
The 29-year-old defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 1-0.
The Belgium international defender was one of the best players for Tottenham, and manager Pochettino has praised him.

Pochettino told Football.London when asked if he was happy with the performance of Alderweireld: “I think it’s too difficult now to be focused on one player.
“I think when you lose, we all lose. When we win it’s the same. He was good like the rest of the team. I was happy with his performance.”

Good performance but underwhelming response
Alderweireld played well for Tottenham and was one of the North London club’s best players against West Brom.
However, it seems that manager Pochettino’s response to the performance of the former Atletico Madrid defender was rather underwhelming.
The defeat to West Brom means that there is a chance that Spurs could miss out on a place in the top four of the Premier League this season.
Chelsea will now be looking to win their remaining games in order to heap the pressure on Tottenham.
