Tottenham Hotspur picked up a 4-0 victory over Stoke City in their latest match.
Mauricio Pochettino has told Sky Sports that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was worried before he found the back of the net against Stoke City yesterday.
Kane scored Tottenham’s final goal in their impressive 4-0 victory over Stoke, and the strike was a very important one.
Kane had not found the scoresheet this season, prior to his goal yesterday, and Pochettino admits that the 22-year-old’s confidence had been knocked.
“It was very important for him to recover the feeling of scoring,” Pochettino said.
“Always the strikers are worried when they don’t score but now he feels happy, we feel happy. I think that was a perfect victory for us.”
Kane’s goal was a very simple finish, but the hope is that it will allow the England international to show his top form again.
The strike was also Kane’s 50th Premier League goal – which is quite an achievement for a player of such tender years.
Kane also started last season slowly, and he went on to notch on over 20 occasions before the end of the term.
The England international’s next chance to get on the scoresheet will come on Wednesday evening, when Spurs take on Monaco in their first Champions League match of the season.
