Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has told The Guardian that he did not think much of Erik Lamela’s showboating against Crystal Palace last weekend.

Lamela nutmegged Palace winger Andros Townsend in the final minutes of the Premier League game at White Hart Lane.

The Spurs fans were delighted with the skill exhibited by the Argentina international attacker.

However, Pochettino has stated that he did not think much of the 24-year-old’s nutmeg during the 1-0 win for the home team.

“I can understand the reaction,” Pochettino told The Guardian. “To be honest I don’t like this kind of thing.

“I understand the supporters enjoy it a lot but I enjoy winning games and scoring goals. For me it was an action but there is nothing more to say.

“It doesn’t create any emotion in me but I understand that it’s football and the supporters like this type of thing.”

Lamela is one of the most talented attacking players in the Premier League and has been playing well for Tottenham so far this season.

The former AS Roma star, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, has scored one goal and created five chances in two league games for Spurs.

The 24-year-old took one shot and created five chances against Palace last weekend.

Tottenham will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane in the Premier League.

Spurs are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season and will also feature in the Champions League during the 2016-17 campaign.
