Josh Onomah has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Onomah has joined Championship club Villa on a season-long loan deal from Premier League outfit Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
This is the first time that the 20-year-old midfielder has been sent out on loan to another club by Spurs.
The England Under-21 international is one of the best and most promising young players in England, and it may have come as a surprise to Tottenham fans when it was announced that the midfielder was leaving on loan for a club in the Championship.
Pochettino has explained decision to let Onomah move to Villa on loan for the 2017-18 campaign.

“Because every six months we need to review every single situation and Josh, after the U20 World Cup I think in his mind it was to play more and prove himself that he can play,” Pochettino told Football.London when asked about his decision regarding Onomah.
“There were a lot of rumours about his position on the pitch. He can play as an 8, a 6, a 7 or 10 or 11, I think that is not the problem. He needs to prove himself that he can play.
“It’s a great opportunity for him now at Aston Villa to prove himself and prove to everyone that he is a player that can learn and improve and will be useful for Tottenham.”

Onomah is a hugely talented midfielder, and playing in the Championship is only going to make him a better footballer.
Villa will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season, and the youngster could prove to be a very shrewd signing for Steve Bruce’s side.
