Tottenham Hotspur are due to face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Sky Sports that Harry Kane will have to settle for a place on the substitutes’ bench against Arsenal.

Kane has been out of action for over a month, but he has returned to training this week.

The forward has damaged his ankle, but there were hopes he would be able to play in the North London derby.

However, Pochettino has suggested that Kane will not be fit enough to start for Spurs against Arsenal.

“This result will not change the idea, but it will be difficult for Kane to play from the start,” Pochettino said.

Tottenham have struggled to score without Kane, with many of their other attacking players faltering in front of goal.

Spurs have only hit the back of the net three times in their last six matches.

Tottenham also could be without key central-defender Toby Alderweireld against their capital rivals on Sunday.

Alderweireld has been training on his own this week, as he searches for fitness.

But, when asked whether the Belgian international would start against Arsenal, Pochettino responded: “[It’s] difficult.”
