Tottenham Hotspur are currently sat in eighth place in the Premier League table, after a concerning start to the new season.

Spurs brought in Ryan Sessegnon, Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele over the summer, and they have a new stadium to spend the entirety of this season at.
However, Pochettino doesn’t think that Tottenham’s advancement off the field means that they will perform any better on it this time around.
“Who says that?” Pochettino said, when it was suggested that Spurs are in a better position now than they were last year.
“Challenges appear, personal circumstances appear. It doesn’t mean more names make a better team. It doesn’t follow that, if you have a £1.2bn stadium, you will win more games.
“Football is not an ordinary business. Ninety-nine per cent of the time two plus two is not four. That is why football is so complex and why a lot of managers are sacked.”
Tottenham’s season so far has certainly been a struggle, with Pochettino cutting a frustrating figure.
The Spurs boss has previously suggested that his squad were ‘unsettled’ over the summer and that there were ‘different agendas’ apparent in the group.

Tottenham’s results seem to have been affected by this uncertainty, with their performances well below par.
Spurs have been guilty of throwing away leads, with the Lilywhites struggling to get over the line in matches.
Tottenham are already trailing league leaders Liverpool by 10 points, after just six games have been played in the Premier League this season.
Spurs now head into their game against Southampton under big pressure to get the three points, otherwise further questions will be asked over what direction the team are heading in.
