The midfielder made his first competitive start for Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa yesterday, and responded when asked about Tanguy Ndombele’s competitive debut for the club, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs went behind early against the Villans, but three late goals saved their blushes.
And it was Ndombele’s strike in the 73rd minute that really got them back into the contest.
The Frenchman played well overall, and his wonderful strike from 18 yards out really was the icing on the cake for him.
Pochettino spoke to reporters after the game yesterday, and suggested that the 22-year-old only showed 30-40 per cent of what he is truly capable of, as quoted by Football.London:

“It was a fantastic performance. But to be honest there is a lot to improve, he only showed 30 or 40 per cent of his potential. He has amazing potential to improve.”
If that is true, and the former Lyon man still has around 60 per cent left in the tank, Spurs fans really will be in for a treat this season.
Ndombele’s arrival at Tottenham is expected to make Pochettino’s side more competitive this season.
Whether they will be able to push Manchester City all the way, however, remains to be seen, but if the France international plays to his full potential between now and the end of the season, they might just surprise a few people this term.
