Tottenham Hotspur play host to Watford in the Premier League on Monday.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today ahead of his side’s clash with Watford on Monday night, and responded to questions asking him for a fitness update, naming Harry Winks and Danny Rose as the only two players who are unavailable for selection, as quoted by Football.London.
Winks has been out of action since February with a troublesome ankle injury, whilst Rose has endured a stop-start campaign, with a combination of injuries and Ben Davies’ fine form limiting him to just seven Premier League starts this term.
Spurs have enjoyed a fairly successful campaign on the whole this term, despite their failure to win a trophy, and they will now be focusing all of their efforts on securing Champions League football again for next season.
Pochettino’s men need just eight points from their final four games to guarantee a top four finish, and they will be looking to secure three of them at home to Watford on Monday.
The Argentine has nearly a full compliment of players to choose from for the visit of the Hornets, and he told reporters how he only has Winks and Rose unavailable for selection, as quoted by Football.London:
“Harry Winks is out. Danny Rose is going to join the team tomorrow, starting to train with the group tomorrow. I think it’s Harry Winks and Danny Rose, we’ll see in the next few days.”
Poch then responded when asked if Winks will play again this season:
“I don’t know. Jesus, do you know? I promise you. It is difficult because we are assessing him and sure it will be not easy for him to play again this season.”
