Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media after his side’s superb 3-1 win over Chelsea, but stopped short of heaping too much praise on his team, suggesting that they have played better this season, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs were quite simply brilliant against the Blues for the entirety of the match. They were quicker, shaper, hungrier, and had much more guile and creativity than Maurizio Sarri’s men in the final third.

Tottenham now sit in third spot in the Premier League table, five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, and they have seemingly already answered their critics, having failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window.

Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s excellent performance against their London rivals, and responded when asked whether it was their best display of the season so far, as quoted by Football.London:

“I don’t believe, the performance was good but I don’t believe it was the best performance.”

Next up for Tottenham is their crucial Champions League clash with Inter at Wembley tomorrow night, and they will need to put in another top quality performance, if they are to keep alive their hopes of qualifying through to the knock-out stages of the competition.
