Tottenham Hotspur fans will be desperate for their club to make some signings this month.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after his side’s fantastic 7-0 win away at Tranmere Rovers in the third round of the FA Cup last night, and admitted that he doesn’t envisage bringing any new players into the club this month, as quoted by Football.London.

Spurs failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window last year but, incredibly, they seem to have improved beyond all recognition this term.

The Lilywhites have enjoyed a wonderful first half to their campaign. They currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table, just six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool, and they remain actively involved in all three cup competitions.

The problem for Tottenham’s that their first XI is so strong that it will be hard for Pochettino to actually sign anyone who improves upon what he already has.

And the Argentine spoke to reporters last night, admitting that he doesn’t think he will be adding his options this month, as quoted by Football.London:

“Difficult. I don’t believe that we are going to do anything.”

Poch’s words will obviously frustrate Tottenham fans, but if he cannot improve upon what he already has, there really isn’t much point in bringing players in for the sake of it.

Spurs seem to be doing just fine at the moment, and it might be in their best interest to wait until the summer before they start bringing any new faces into the club.
