Stoke City will play host to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League today.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media ahead of his side’s clash with Stoke City today, and provided a positive injury update, with only two first-team players unavailable for selection, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, but are only four points adrift of second placed Manchester United, and Pochettino will be desperate for his side to finish their season strongly, and make a real push for second position.
The Lilywhites also have an FA Cup semi final against Manchester United to look forward to, so everything seems rosey in north London at the moment.
Pochttino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s trip to the Potteries today, and delivered encouraging news for Spurs fans, as quoted by Football.London:
“My decision is always about a football decision and when you have all the players fit like we have, I think only Harry Winks and Kyle Walker-Peters are out, and I think it’s about picking your best starting XI.”
Having nearly a full compliment of players to choose from at this stage of the season must be seen as a huge boost for Tottenham, especially when it is considered that the two players who are out injured are not even first-team regulars.
Key man Harry Kane returned to action during his side’s win at Chelsea last weekend, and he is expected to start at the BET 365 Stadium today.
With Manchester United playing away at Manchester City today, Tottenham have a wonderful chance to close the gap on Jose Mourinho’s side, and having a fully fit squad will certainly help them in their chances of doing just that.
