Tottenham Hotspur ran out 3-0 winners against Hull City at White Hart Lane yesterday.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told the Tottenham Independent that he believes he made a clever decision by switching to a 3-5-2 formation against Hull City.
Pochettino deployed Kyle Walker and Danny Rose as wing-backs for Spurs against Hull, as his side picked up a comfortable three points.
Tottenham ran out 3-0 winners over the Tigers, and Pochettino feels that his tactical switch worked well.
“This season we are working hard to try to develop different formations, different systems to use to try to provide the team with different solutions,” Pochettino said.
“Today we believed it was the better way to play the way we played. I think it was working very well, the first two goals arrived through the action of our full backs.
“Danny Rose and Kyle Walker were in a higher position, to use them like wing backs.
“After the training looks like it was a very good choice, but as always in football it is very important to be clinical and to score.”
Tottenham opened the scoring against Hull in the first-half, when Christian Eriksen found the back of the net and they never looked back after taking the lead.
Eriksen scored again in the second half, before Victor Wanyama finished off the scoring with a tap-in late on.
Tottenham’s win means that they remain within touching distance of the top four.
Spurs are only three points behind fourth placed Manchester City, as things stand, and their next match comes against Burnley at White Hart Lane.
