Tottenham Hotspur should consider making a move for the Manchester City ace this summer.

Mauricio Pochettino has become well-renowned for developing young talent during his time within the game, and he should consider bringing Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts to Tottenham this summer, in the hope of turning him into a real superstar.

The 21-year-old faces an uncertain future at the Etihad Stadium, what with the depth of world-class talent currently ahead of him in the pecking order at City, and a move to Spurs really could spark his career into life.

Roberts has spent the last two-and-a-half seasons on loan in Scotland with Celtic, after making his move from Fulham to Manchester City in the summer of 2015, and he has really impressed for the Glasgow giants, chipping in with 18 goals and 26 assists in 76 appearances in all competitions.

Quite where he will be plying his trade next season, though, remains to be seen.

The Lilywhites are in need of more strength in depth in the wide attacking department, and Roberts could be just the man for the job.

He possesses exceptional technical ability, and has the wonderful knack of being able to run with the ball at pace.

The England under-20 international would have both the time and opportunity to improve under the guidance of Pochettino in north London, and a move from City to Tottenham could be just what he needs in order to fulfil his true potential.

Roberts is valued at just £6.75 million, according to Transfer Market, but City would surely expect a bid well in excess of that amount for them to even contemplate selling him.

Spurs should test their resolve nevertheless, and make a firm offer for the 21-year-old this summer.

He could turn out to be a real star for Tottenham.
