The Tottenham Hotspur duo were in excellent form last night.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s excellent 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund last night, and singled out two of his players for praise, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs ended up winning 4-0 on aggregate against the Bundesliga outfit, and they would have made a real statement to the rest of Europe with their performances over the two legs.
The Tottenham players worked incredibly hard in every area of the pitch, displaying defensive rigidity, as well as impressive ball retention skills in the middle of the park and a real cutting edge up front.
Hugo Lloris and Harry Kane shone for the north London outfit last night, and Pochettino chose to single the pair out for praise, when speaking to reporters after the game, as quoted by Football.London:

“I am so happy, you know very well my emotion with him. He is one of the best strikers in the world. The mentality and determination is fantastic. I want to congratulate him and I want to congratulate Hugo because it was his 100 clean sheet for Tottenham, That is a massive achievement too.”
Lloris, 32, really was excellent, making a whole host of top class saves in the first-half to keep the score at 0-0 heading into the half-time break.
Kane, meanwhile, worked his socks off, and scored Tottenham’s vital away goal that essentially ended Dortmund’s hopes of overturning the first-leg deficit.
And if the two Spurs stars continue that fine form for the remainder of the season, anything is possible for Pochettino’s side.
