Moussa Sissoko will miss around two weeks, says the Tottenham Hotspur boss.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed to Football London that Moussa Sissoko will not be available for tomorrow’s clash with Brighton & Hove Albion.
Sissoko missed Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Manchester City after suffering an injury in Tottenham’s Champions League win over Pep Guardiola’s side last week.
Harry Winks also missed the trip to the Etihad this past weekend and although Pochettino is unsure over whether he’ll make tomorrow’s visit of the Seagulls, the Frenchman is definitely out.
He told Football London: “Moussa Sissoko is not going to be fit, maybe for the next two weeks, we hope he can recover before but I am not so optimistic.
“Harry Winks we don’t now because it is a problem that is one day very good, next day not very good, it is about assessing each day. We hope he will be available for Tuesday but we are not sure.
More worryingly, if Sissoko is out for two weeks then he won’t be available for the visit of Ajax in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final in eight days time.
It’s a blow for Spurs, given how superb Sissoko has been this season.
The former Newcastle United has transformed his Tottenham career in a more dramatic way than anybody else at the club in recent memory.
Pochettino’s side still haven’t secured a top-four finish and with Harry Kane already out, the absence of Sissoko is yet another kick in the teeth.
