Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
He was commenting on the fitness of star striker Kane, as reported by the Hampstead and Highgate Express, who has been out of action since last month with ankle ligament damage. The Argentine revealed that the England international had started ball work once again this afternoon:
“We are happy with Harry; he’s doing very well. Today he’s started to touch the ball a little bit alone and do some exercises with the sports scientists. We assess him every day but he’s not available for this weekend.
“It’s difficult [to predict when he will be back] because it’s about how his ankle reacts every day. Today we’re happy but we’ll see.”
Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld is stretchered off after sustaining a injury
The fact Kane is now working with balls at his feet again is an exciting hint at the speed of his progression and Tottenham fans will undoubtedly look forward to seeing him in action again soon.
Pochettino also confirmed good news for Toby Alderweireld, although this weekend’s game will come too soon for the Belgian, whilst admitting Danny Rose is a doubt for the fixture:
“Toby’s scan is clear but he still feels pain in his leg. He’s recovering well but we need to wait. He’s not available for the weekend too.
“We’re happy it’s not a big issue but it was still a heavy knock on his leg and it’s still painful. We need to wait to see how it reacts too every day.
Tottenham’s Danny Rose in action with Bayer Leverkusen’s Stefan Kiessling
“Danny Rose we need to assess tomorrow because he kicked an opponent against Leverkusen and his foot is bruised. We will see tomorrow if he is available of not.”
Spurs fans will undoubtedly be most excited about the news regarding Kane.
Vincent Janssen is still adapting to English football and Heung-min Son plays better from the wide positions.
Hopefully Kane will be back leading the line in no time.
