Tottenham Hotspur are due to face Middlesbrough at the weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed at his press conference, which was broadcast by Press Bureau TV on Youtube, that Danny Rose is close to returning for Tottenham Hotspur.
Rose sat out of Tottenham’s match against Sunderland at the weekend, with Jan Vertonghen filling in at left-back.
Spurs still won the match 1-0, but Rose’s drive down the left-hand side was missed.

The England international is also due to be sidelined for Spurs’ EFL Cup clash with Gillingham this evening.
But Pochettino has confirmed that the rapid defender is closing in on full fitness, and could play a part against Middlesbrough at the weekend.
“Danny is still out, but he is very close,” Pochettino said. “Maybe [he will be back for the weekend]. If not, for next week.”

With Rose out, it seems likely that Ben Davies will start at left-back for Tottenham in the EFL Cup this evening.
Spurs go into the match against Gills as the heavy favourites, even though Pochettino is expected to tinker with his line-up for the fixture.
