Tottenham have welcomed Son Heung-min back in to training.

Tottenham Hotspur's Argentinian head coach Mauricio Pochettino arrives for the English FA Cup fourth round football match between Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park in...

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he thinks Son Heung-min has been very good since his return to training.

Spurs are back in Premier League action on Wednesday night, as they take on Watford with the intention of getting back to winning ways.

The last week has seen Spurs crash out of the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, losing to Chelsea on penalties before a defeat at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

A home game against Watford may give Spurs the chance to return to winning ways, though they will still be without injured duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

One major boost in the final third comes in the return of Son Heung-min, with the attacker back available again having been on international duty with South Korea at the AFC Asian Cup.

South Korea lost in the quarter-finals to Qatar on Friday, meaning Son has returned to London and was back in training today ahead of Wednesday’s game.

Tottenham’s lack of attacking options means that Son could be back in the starting line-up, having hit seven goals and five assists in his final seven games before heading off.

Now, Pochettino has admitted that Son was ‘good’ in training today, and showed ‘very good energy’ in training having been ’empty’ at one point during his international duties, with Pochettino now left to decide whether he will start or be on the bench tomorrow night.

“Yes, Son come back and today was good in training,” said Pochettino. “Maybe after the third game he played in between Dubai and Emirates he felt empty because he was so disappointed, but here he’s happy and today he had very good energy. We’re going to decide if he will play from the beginning or the bench but I am very optimistic because he showed very good energy in the training session,” he added.
