Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested to Football.London that Ryan Sessegnon is not yet ready to play 90 minutes for the team.

Sessegnon joined Premier League club Tottenham from Championship outfit Fulham in the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, has had fitness issues and has yet to play a competitive game for the North London outfit.

Tottenham boss Pochettino has suggested that the teenager is not yet ready to make a debut for the club and may not start against Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

Pochettino told Football.London about Sessegnon: “We’re assessing all the players this weekend. We have tomorrow a session and then travel to Liverpool and we’ll see if he can be involved.”

Pochettino added: “I cannot say that he’s complete in the way that we can say we trust him to play 90 minutes.

“We have a big squad, it’s difficult to give the possibility, but he’s still young. He needs to work hard, he had a long period of injury, but for sure he is going to get an opportunity to play in the future.”

Disappointment continues

Sessegnon is a very talented and promising young player, and Spurs fans must be disappointed that they are yet to see him in action.

The 19-year-old is a very good long-term signing for Tottenham, but for the teenager, it must be disappointing that he has yet to play a single minute of competitive football for the North London outfit.
