Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso was brought in for big money by Mauricio Pochettino over the summer.

Lo Celso was brought to Spurs from Real Betis over the summer in a big money transfer, and there was great excitement about seeing the playmaker in action.
However, Pochettino’s comments suggest it could be some time yet before Lo Celso is ready to start.
“Lo Celso is a situation that is not going to be easy. Was in extended holidays after the Copa America, he didn’t have a proper pre-season and didn’t train much. Then signed for us after a week without training,” Pochettino said.
“He’s training well but is so far away from what we expect from him. We need to give him time and we won’t expect too much from him.”
Lo Celso was used off the bench during Tottenham’s last game against Manchester City, but he didn’t have much time to make an impact.
It seems that the Argentine international could well have to get used to coming off the bench for the time being, as Pochettino looks to get him up to speed.

Pochettino is a manager who rarely throws new signings in straight away, as he wants to fully ensure that they have adjusted to his demands before giving them a key role in Tottenham’s team.
Spurs’s next match comes against Newcastle United on Sunday, as the Lilywhites look to continue their unbeaten start to the season.
