Mauricio Pochettino showered praise on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Moussa Sissoko for his performance against Everton.
Tottenham Hotspur produced a fantastic performance as they won 3-0 against Everton on Saturday afternoon in the Premier League.
While all the focus was on Harry Kane, who scored for the first time this season and crossed 100th goal for his club, there were others who were equally brilliant.
One of them was Moussa Sissoko. The Frenchman has struggled badly last season since making his £30 million move from Newcastle United, and there were even suggestions that he could be sold.
However, the 28-year-old has shown great determination in proving a point to his manager, and did well against Everton at Goodison Park.
According to whoscored.com, Sissoko made two tackles and one interception, and had registered two shots during the game.
Most importantly, his energy in the middle of the park was important as Everton found hard to break Tottenham’s diamond midfield system.
Mauricio Pochettino has praised the Frenchman, saying “he was good”, and that it was a “very solid performance” from him.
The Argentine added that Sissoko is a part of his plan. Sissoko should be pleased with his manager’s open vote of confidence, and should try to perform even better in the coming games.
“I think he was good today. It’s true he finished with some problem. But I’m happy with the performance. It was a very solid performance too. The whole team played well today,” said Pochettino, as quoted by Football London.
“For me it’s the same. The position is dependant on the tactic and the dynamic of how you want to play. When you win 3-0 and you play well it’s easy to say now different things. i am happy with him, he’s part of my plan and today he was very good.”
