Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as a first choice target for Real Madrid.
Mauricio Pochettino has said that he is not thinking about leaving Tottenham Hotspur anytime soon, and has hailed the north London club as the best in the world.
The Argentine manager guided Spurs to a famous 3-1 victory over Real Madrid at Wembley earlier this week, which sent the Spanish media into meltdown.
Reports surfaced that Pochettino has emerged as Madrid’s first choice target to replace Zinedine Zidane if the French coach fails to last beyond the end of the season.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, Madrid are keen to sign both Harry Kane and Dele Alli as they look to rebuild the squad. The club believe their task of luring them will be easier if they have Pochettino at helm.
When Pochettino was asked to comment on the transfer link, he said that he feels proud about Spurs and his players.
The former Southampton manager admits that he doesn’t think about future too much as it depends on a lot of other circumstances. He feels trusted at the club and wouldn’t swap any club in the world for Spurs at the moment.
“I don’t want to lie,” said Pochettino, as quoted by The Guardian. “Always, I want to be honest and I say: ‘I don’t think about tomorrow. I don’t think about next season.’ Because it doesn’t depend only on me, it depends on many circumstances. And it’s so important to be respectful and prudent, cautious and intelligent.”
“The most important club in the world is Tottenham. And it is the best club in the world. I need to feel like this and that emotion is real because I cannot be fake. It’s too difficult to create the trust if you don’t really believe and it’s not real, that emotion. Today, Tottenham is in my head 100%. Today, I do not change Tottenham for another position in the world because I am so involved, so focused.”
