Mauricio Pochettino is on the verge of becoming the new Chelsea manager amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham manager target Mauricio Pochettino on verge of Chelsea move
The London Evening Standard have reported that Pochettino is “now on the verge of joining” Chelsea.
The report has added that the Argentine boss, described as “an excellent manager” by Pep Guardiola of Manchester City on Sky Sports in November 2021, is “open to returning” to Tottenham.
During his time at Spurs, Pochettino regularly guided the team to the Premier League top four and also took them to the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019.
The Times have reported that the 51-year-old is among the managers Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is looking at.
Former Tottenham forward and talkSPORT presenter Alan Brazil has said on talkSPORT (6:24am, April 21, 2023) that Pochettino “wants to go back to Tottenham”.

HITC Verdict: Makes sense
In our view, if Mauricio Pochettino does become the new Chelsea manager, then we would not be surprised.
Chelsea are a massive club, and Pochettino would do well at the Blues.
The Blues have a very good squad, and the former Tottenham manager would be better equipped to manage Chelsea now after his spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
As for Tottenham, Pochettino would be the perfect manager for them, but it seems that they could miss out.
