Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to force their way inside the top four in the second half of the season.
Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino hinted a potential January transfer business, but suggested it will be very late in the month, if there is any activity whatsoever, as quoted by Sky Sports.
Tottenham currently sit in fifth position in the Premier League table, four points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, but they do have a game in hand over their fierce rivals.

Pochettino has received criticism, however, for not building a squad that is good enough to compete both domestically and on the continent, with many Spurs fans craving more signings in January.
And the Argentine discussed any potential incomings next month, when speaking to reporters ahead of his side’s game against Southampton tomorrow night, as quoted by Sky Sports:
“Maybe on the last day, maybe. It’s like before. It’s too difficult to improve your squad in January, for all the clubs. I don’t expect too much movement. I am happy with the squad. At the same time I recognise it is always very difficult to improve the squad in January. The best players, it is difficult for their teams to allow the good players to leave halfway through the season. If some special situation happens, maybe we need to be open but it will be tough or difficult to improve the squad in that period.”

Some of Pochettino’s summer signings have struggled to establish themselves at White Hart Lane since their moves to the club, including the likes of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Vincent Janssen.
The next couple of transfer windows will likely be very important ones for the Lilywhites, but as Pochettino said before, January is never an easy month to bring in the players of the required standard who will actually improve the squad.
It may not be until the summer when Tottenham fans finally get their wish of heavier investment into the playing squad.
