Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters after this side’s fine 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town yesterday, and offered high words of praise for hat-trick hero Lucas Moura, labelling the Brazilian’s display as ‘unbelievable’, as quoted by Football.London.

The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £25 million, and he has gone on to rack up 13 goals and six assists in 51 appearances in all competitions for Pochettino’s side.

Lucas will have a key role to play for Tottenham between now and the end of the season, with Harry Kane having been ruled out for at least six weeks, and his hat-trick yesterday will do him the world of good.

And Pochettino raved about the Spurs forward’s display against the Terriers yesterday, suggesting that his hat-trick will help build his confidence, as quoted by Football.London:

“An unbelievable afternoon for Lucas Moura. When you have 24/25 players they need to play. I thought the performance was very professional. The hat-trick will help build his confidence.”

Tottenham face Manchester City at the Etihad on Wednesday night in the Champions League, and they will need Lucas to be on his best form in the absence of Kane, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of progressing through to the semi-finals of the competition.
