Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton at Goodison Park recently, with Marco Silva’s side struggling.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Sky Sports that he believes Everton are the only side to have suffered as badly with the fixture schedule as his team.

Tottenham and Everton were forced to play one game every two days over the Festive period, which gave them fewer breaks than any other sides in the Premier League.

Spurs actually coped fairly well with the demands, although a defeat to Wolves recently was damaging.

Everton, on the other hand, have struggle badly of late – with Marco Silva’s side winning just one of their last eight matches.

And Pochettino believes that Everton’s slump is purely down to fitness reasons.

“One thing I need to say after us and Everton we were both teams that suffer a little bit more without much rest between the games, and I think the players’ effort was magnificent,” Pochettino said after Tottenham’s 3-0 win over Cardiff.

Everton boss Silva is now under significant pressure at Goodison Park, with sections of the crowd becoming restless.

The Toffees have dropped into 10th place in the Premier League table, with their form concerning.

Everton are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Lincoln City in the FA Cup.
