Mauricio Pochettino has told the Daily Express that his Tottenham Hotspur side have been unlucky with injuries so far this season.
Spurs have had a number of players sidelined throughout the campaign to date, but the increased depth in their squad has already been highlighted.
Tottenham have managed to go unbeaten throughout their Premier League campaign so far.
And Pochettino said: “We are competitive, now we are a bit unlucky with injuries but we have depth in the squad and it’s a good opportunity for the players that don’t play too much.
“In football the squad is important, the 25 players are important. Now we have some players that are injured but it’s important for the squad and the team that all are ready to play.”
Spurs added players in key positions during the summer transfer window, to ensure that they could cope with the demands of playing in the Premier League and the Champions League.
Tottenham are currently without integral players such as Danny Rose and Harry Kane due to injury.
Spurs are next in action this evening, when they take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League.
Tottenham follow that European match up with a crucial domestic fixture against unbeaten Manchester City on Sunday.
