Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele made an assist with his first touch in a Spurs shirt yesterday.
Ndombele helped Tottenham pick up a 3-2 win over Juventus in their first pre season friendly of the season, and claimed an assist with one of his first touches in a Spurs shirt.
Ndombele set up Lucas Moura with a great through ball, and Pochettino was very impressed with his new purchase.
He said: “All is new for him, but I think with the first touch of the ball he started to show the quality from him. It was amazing and you can see when he runs something can happen.”
Pochettino says that he had only planned to give Ndombele 15 minutes worth of action.
However, the central midfielder convinced him that he was ready to play for a third of the match with his display.
“Ndombele is a player that has the capacity to do what he did today,” the Spurs boss said.
“But still it’s too far away in his adaptation. It’s only one week with us. Today he played more than I expected because our plan was to play him for only 15 minutes, but with the tempo in the second half it was good to give him 30 minutes.”
Tottenham won the match through a quite simply amazing goal from Harry Kane, as the striker took aim from the half way line and scored.
Spurs’s next pre-season match comes against Manchester United on Thursday.
