Tottenham Hotspur drew 0-0 with Bournemouth in their latest outing.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told ESPN that he agreed with the criticism of his squad for making too many fouls against Bournemouth.
Spurs committed 15 fouls at Dean Court, and picked up four bookings during the contest.
After the match, Pochettino felt that his side were short of sharpness, as their gruelling schedule has begun to catch up with them.
“I agree that we didn’t show the freshness you need to anticipate the action,” he said. “We arrived a little late and maybe we made some bad tackles and deserved yellow cards but it wasn’t bad intentions. We were a little tired.”
Erik Lamela and Moussa Sissoko both could have seen red, during Spurs’ 0-0 draw.
Lamela committed two bad challenges, but only picked up a yellow, while Sissoko avoided a red card for catching Harry Arter with an elbow.
Tottenham were short of their best against Bournemouth, and did not create too many chances during the contest.
However, their defence stood firm and ensured that Mauricio Pochettino’s side kept up their unbeaten record.
Tottenham are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table, but only one point behind league leaders Manchester City.
