Tottenham Hotspur are currently unbeaten in Premier League action this season.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has admitted to the Daily Mirror that the international break was a problem for his side.
Tottenham saw a number of players go away to represent their countries, and Pochettino admits that it makes his task of training the team difficult.
The Argentine boss is worried about fatigue, with Spurs having to balance their domestic commitments alongside their Champions League fixtures this season.
“The problem is that we have 16 or 17 players going away for two weeks [because of the international break] and to put it all together now is a very complicated job,” Pochettino said.
“If you play one game every week – for example, if we play West Brom and then after seven days we play against Bournemouth – it is not a big issue.
“The problem is how you manage Leverkusen, Bournemouth, Liverpool… It is very difficult.”
Tottenham went into the international break unbeaten in Premier League action, and on the back of a 2-0 win over Manchester City.
Spurs will be hoping that the two weeks away from action has not halted their momentum, as they look to continue to put pressure on Pep Guardiola’s side.
Tottenham are currently just one point away from the league leaders, who have shown signs of vulnerability in recent weeks.
Spurs’ next match comes against West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
