Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the midst of a concerning run of form.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters during his pre-match press conference yesterday, and admitted that his two-game touchline ban adversely affected his players, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs lost both games that Pochettino was forced to sit in the stands for – away at Southampton and Liverpool, and they have since been overtaken by bitter rivals Arsenal in the Premier League table.
The north London outfit will be desperate to finish inside the top four this season, especially given the fact that they will be playing in the magnificent new stadium from tonight onwards.
Their last couple of results have severely dented their hopes of doing just that, however.
And Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, admitting that his touchline ban affected the Tottenham players’ performances away at Southampton and Liverpool, as quoted by Football.London:
“It is going to be an impact. I hope. The two results, my friend here (points to Jesus Perez and laughs), the percentage of victory.”
Tottenham face Crystal Palace tonight, and nothing less than a win will do, as they look to leapfrog Arsenal back into third place in the Premier League table.
And Pochettino will be hoping that his return to the dug-out, combined with the fact that they will be playing their first game in their new home, will inspire his Spurs players to a victory against the Eagles.
