Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of winning the title were dealt a massive blow on Saturday.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke to reporters yesterday ahead of his side’s clash with Chelsea tonight, and suggested that the mentality of his players has been holding his team back, as quoted by Football.London.
Spurs dropped three vital points away at Burnley on Saturday, and they now sit six points adrift of league leaders Liverpool.
Tottenham have been mightily impressive on the whole this season, but they always seem to falter when the pressure is really on and they are being discussed as genuine challengers for the Premier League title.
Tonight’s game at Stamford Bridge is a great opportunity for the north London outfit to prove their mettle, however, and a win over the Blues would help banish the memory of Saturday’s painful defeat.
Pochettino admitted his concern regarding his players’ mentality, however, when speaking to reporters yesterday, responding when asked whether the mindset of his team has been holding them back, as quoted by Football.London:

“Yes. Exactly. If you make the exercise that you like the football, the example is Watford. First-half fantastic, we started the second-half amazing. One-nil [up], and then in the last 20 minutes we threw away the game, because of us, not because of Watford.”
Tottenham can ill afford to drop any more points this season, if they are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title, but should they beat both Chelsea tonight and Arsenal on Saturday, they will surely be right back in the race to win their first top flight crown since 1961.
