Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has told Football.London that he will ask Daniel Levy for more information about the alleged European Super League plans this week.

Spurs are back in action yet again tonight, as they take on PSV Eindhoven in a crucial Champions League clash at Wembley; their fourth game in just nine days.

After defeats to Inter Milan and Barcelona as well as only picking up a point at PSV, tonight is a crucial game in Tottenham’s hopes to get through the group stage of this season’s Champions League.

The game comes as European football as a whole is left reeling from reports of talks about a European Super League, as reported by BBC Sport.

Some of Europe’s biggest clubs have allegedly been plotting to breakaway from their current leagues in order to form a ‘European Super League’, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United all involved.

The only team from the Premier League’s so-called ‘big six’ is Tottenham, and they weren’t even listed among the initial ‘guest’ teams if the plans come to fruition.

Unsurprisingly, Spurs boss Pochettino has now been asked about the situation ahead of tonight’s game, and admits he doesn’t really know what to think yet as he doesn’t have all the information – but is keen to ask chairman Levy about the situation this week, with so much talk going on which could seriously impact Tottenham in the near future.

“I don’t know. I don’t have too much information about that,” said Pochettino. “I haven’t paid attention too much but it’s a lot of information that happened. It’s not only last week but in the past, many times. I really don’t know, if I have the opportunity to ask Daniel in the next few days sure he will have more information to translate to me,” he added.
