The Tottenham Hotspur striker has been out injured for the past three weeks.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Ajax tomorrow night, and responded when asked by reporters to provide an update on the currently injured Harry Kane, as quoted by Football.London.
The 25-year-old Spurs striker has been out with an ankle injury since April 9th, and it seemed as though he would be unavailable for selection for the rest of the season.
Kane has proven so many times before that he has the superb ability to recover quicker than expected, however, and this time might be no different.
Pochettino provided a positive update on the Tottenham hitman, although he did rule him out of the second-leg against Ajax in nine days time, as quoted by Football.London:
“He’s doing well. He’s working and starting to run a bit inside. His rehab is so good but we cannot create any idea that we maybe cannot achieve. The most important thing is that he is in a good place and we’ll see what happens. (Will he be available for the second leg? Turns to Jesus) Will he? No chance? Oh Jesus says no chance.”
Tottenham have enough strength in depth to cope without Kane, but they will also be missing Heung-Min Son tomorrow night through suspension.
With this in mind, Lucas Moura and Fernando Llorente have a great opportunity to stake their claims, and prove to Pochettino that they are deserving of more regular games.
