The West Ham United right-back sustained an injury against Huddersfield Town yesterday.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after his side’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield yesterday, and shared what Ryan Fredericks told him after injuring his ankle and being forced off with five minutes still to play, as quoted by Football.London.
The Hammers were quite simply dreadful in the first-half against the Terriers, but improved in the second-half, and left west Yorkshire with a point to show for their efforts.
West Ham now sit in 13th spot in the Premier League table, having taken 12 points from their opening 12 league outings, and Pellegrini will surely not be happy with that return.
They were certainly not helped yesterday, however, when Fredericks had to leave the field of play with five minutes still remaining.
The Chilean spoke to reporters after the game at the John Smith’s Stadium, and shared what the former Fulham man told him after he sustained an ankle injury, as quoted by Football.London:
“Ryan has a twist in his ankle, he cannot walk, so we played the last five minutes with one player less but he told me he couldn’t walk. We will see tomorrow with the doctors how bad it is.”
Next up for West Ham is a tremendously tough test against Pep Guardiola’s awesome Manchester City side in two weeks time, and Pellegrini’s men will have to be at their very best, if they are to stand any chance whatsoever of winning the game.
