Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels has told the Chronicle that it is hard for them to play at home this season as teams are treating it like a cup final.
The Magpies have made a strong start to life in the Championship, currently sitting third in the table with 15 points from their first eight games.
It has not been completely plain sailing, though, with them already having lost three games at this stage of the campaign.

Two of those defeats have come at St James Park, to Huddersfield Town and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively, and Sels says it is actually hard for them to play on home turf this season.
“At home, it can be difficult to play sometimes,” he told the Chronicle.
“Some of the teams come here to play it like a cup final at St James’ Park. It is a day out for visiting supporters so we have to make ourselves work twice as hard.”

If Newcastle United do have any hopes of making an instant return to the Premier League this season, they will have to ensure their home form improves.
In the last two seasons, five of the six teams with the best home record have ended up securing promotion to the Premier League.
That is a clear demonstration that home form is absolutely crucial in this division and the Magpies will have to ensure they turn St James Park into a fortress themselves this season.
