Newcastle United take on Rotherham United in the Championship this afternoon, hoping to carry on where they left off in the incredible 4-3 win over Norwich City in midweek.

Rafa Benitez’s men left it late in that game, with an equaliser and winning goal coming in the final minute.

Newcastle’s boss made a big call before that game, regarding the goalkeeping position at St James’ Park.

He decided to leave summer signing Matz Sels out of the starting XI, the Belgian being replaced by Karl Darlow.

Sels had found himself under pressure after some sub-par performances for Newcastle this season and Darlow, a fan favourite, appears to be the spectators’ choice.

This weekend Benitez faces a dilemma on who starts, but Sels seemed pretty happy in training this week for a player who might be about to sit on the bench again.

He, Darlow and current third-choice stopper Paul Woolston – just 18-years-old – were going through their paces ahead of the big game with Rotherham this afternoon.

Whoever does get the start will be expected to keep the Millers at bay.
