Maty Ryan has posted on Instagram ‘speedy recovery bro’ as he reacted to Granit Xhaka’s long-term injury for Arsenal.
On Tuesday morning, Arsenal broke the bad news on their official website that Xhaka is facing three months on the sidelines.
It is said by Arsenal that the combative midfielder has suffered ‘a significant injury to his medial knee ligament’ and is now beginning his road to recovery.
Xhaka returned to action for Arsenal on Sunday, after suspension, and was outstanding as his side ripped apart Spurs in the North London derby.
But, in the second half, he had to limp off, and it was no surprise because he was, as always, going in hard on a number of challenges during the game.
The marmite-like figure looked in discomfort when he was being treated and walked off in a worrying fashion – and that possible bad news has now been confirmed.
When Xhaka posted on Instagram that he is going to ‘give everything’ to come back, a number of players commented on his post.
Ex-Arsenal keeper Ryan simply wrote: “Speedy recovery bro.”
Whilst former Gunner and Xhaka’s fellow countryman, Johan Djourou wrote: “A warrior. You will come back stronger Brudi.”

What is somebody else’s loss is another man’s gain, and that’s going to be the case here.
Three months is a long time for Mikel Arteta to be without a player he uses on a regular basis.
Even though Arsenal had won three games on the bounce, without Xhaka, he was still thrown straight into the XI in the North London derby – and that says a lot about how he is thought about within London Colney
But now summer signing Albert Sambi Lokonga comes into play a lot more, as does Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Mohamed Elneny.
Or could one of the younger players, such as rising teenager, Charlie Patino, now find himself in matchday squads?
