Former West Ham United players joined an Ipswich Town star in taking to Twitter to congratulate Aaron Cresswell on making his England debut.
England’s Aaron Cresswell comes on as a substitute to replace England’s Danny Rose
Hammers left back Cresswell finally made his England debut when he replaced Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose in the 2-2 friendly draw with Spain at Wembley on Tuesday night.
West Ham fans have long bemoaned a lack of recognition for their classy attack-minded defender.
A host of pundits and supporters of other clubs even felt the Liverpudlian deserved a chance after two impeccable seasons in the claret and blue since signing from Ipswich Town.

Contributing a number of assists and some spectacular goals along the way too, Cresswell looked to have done enough to earn a place in England’s Euro 2016 squad under Roy Hodgson.
He was snubbed, though, in what may have been a blessing for the player.
Injury denied Cresswell what would surely have been his first cap when the man who signed him for West Ham, Sam Allardyce, took over as England boss.

But the pacy star has now made his Three Lions debut for 12 minutes under Gareth Southgate’s against the former world champions.
And he was congratulated on the accomplishment by former Hammers players Matt Jarvis and Paul Konchesky as well as Tommy Smith from Cresswell’s old club Ipswich.
Jarvis said: “Absolutely delighted for Aaron Cresswell on making his England debut! Fully deserved! Congrats pal!”
New Zealand international Smith posted: “Yes Cressy, what a moment for you pal, congratulations.”

And Konchesky, a Hammers fan and the last West Ham left back to play for England – against Argentina back in 2005 – also tweeted Cresswell.
“Congrats on the debut mate! Fully deserved,” Konchesky said.
