Former West Ham United star Matty Etherington has been having his say on Slaven Bilic’s future.

The Hammers have endured a difficult start to the new season winning just two of their seven Premier League games so far, the latest an unconvincing last gasp victory over Swansea City on Saturday.
Bilic has been a man under pressure after flirting with relegation last season and suffering something of a hangover this.
The likes of Manuel Pelligrini, Carlo Ancelotti, Thomas Tuchel and Rafa Benitez have been linked as potential successors to Bilic should the club’s owners decide to pull the trigger anytime soon.
But former Hammers winger Etherington says that would be a mistake as he called for the East Londoners to bear with the Croatian.
Matthew Etherington in his West Ham playing days
Responding to the well known Twitter ITK ExWHUEmployee, Etherington said he understood the frustration around performances this season but called for patience.
“I know where you’re coming from mate but a must win game into the seventh game of the season!?” Etherington said on Twitter ahead of Saturday’s big game against Swansea.
“Next fixtures are favourable, give him time.”

Quite how much time Bilic will get remains to be seen.
David Sullivan and David Gold tend to stick by their managers even if Bilic has been allowed to enter into the last year of his contract with no sign of a renewal in the pipeline anytime soon.
Indeed it could be argued that fact is partly to blame for West Ham’s inconsistency as players know he may not be around this time next year.
