Nottingham Forest announced the departure of Michael Dawson on Wednesday, and Matty Cash has taken to social media to give his immediate reaction.
Dawson re-joined Forest back in 2018, and he of course played alongside Cash during his time at the City Ground.
The 37-year-old came through the youth ranks at Forest back in the early 2000s before making a real name for himself at Tottenham, becoming an England international during that time.
Dawson will certainly go down as a modern Forest legend, and Cash seems to agree with that sentiment.
Even though Dawson hasn’t played all that much football for Forest in recent seasons, it seems as though he’s held in high esteem by his teammates.
Cash believes that the defender is an absolute legend, and to be fair, we have to agree with that point of view.
Dawson hasn’t officially retired from the game, so it will be interesting to see what his next move is, but whichever club picks him up, be that in a playing role or in a coaching capacity, will be getting a top-class professional.
