Matty Cash has reacted to Cameron Archer’s £18.5 million transfer from Aston Villa to Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old has excelled out on-loan in the Championship in recent seasons, including a number of eye-catching performances for Aston Villa’s senior side.
But Villa have decided to sell the rising England U21 star to newly-promoted Sheffield United, with Matty Cash telling him on Instagram ‘all the best, bro’.
Given that Villa have put a buy-back clause in Cameron Archer’s deal, then it probably tells you that they still value the player, it’s just a case of they couldn’t turn down such money for an academy product and they are trying to keep ahead of FFP (Daily Mail).
Last season, Archer scored 11 goals and supplied six assists in 23 games for Middlesbrough, who went from relegation strugglers to play-off semi-finalists under Michael Carrick.
Not forgetting his seven goals in 20 for Preston North End, with Sheffield United clearly banking on his talent, which saw him score a hat-trick on his senior Villa debut in the League Cup, plus a brilliant headed goal at Chelsea, as a number of Archer’s teammates reacted to his move today.
Villa captain John McGinn told him in the comments section of his IG post: ‘Good luck, ma man’, Matty Cash added: ‘All the best, bro’, whilst Harvey Knibbs said: ‘Some journey’.

Big move for Archer
There’s no doubt that Archer still would have been able to earn game time at Villa this season given that they are in Europe, but he will earn a lot more starts with Sheffield United.
This is a big move for the highly-rated striker because he dives straight into the deep end to help a team trying to avoid relegation.
The Blades have lost their opening three Premier League matches, including against Manchester City on Sunday, but Archer will sure want to make his mark in a side that needs of some added quality and confidence.
