Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are among the clubs reportedly interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax in the summer transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Matthijs de Ligt, with Football.London claiming that the North London outfit want to sign the central defender from Ajax in the summer transfer window.
De Ligt is one of the best and most talented young centre-backs in Europe, and Tottenham’s (reported) interest in him does not come as a surprise.
Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are also interested in the Netherlands international, according to The Mirror, which also claims that Ajax want as much as £50 million as transfer fee for the teenager.

It is going to be tough for Tottenham to sign De Ligt give the competition they (reportedly) face, but the youngster’s comments about his future should encourage them.
As quoted by The Mirror, De Ligt, who reportedly earns £15,000 per week as salary at Ajax, will choose his next club carefully and will not be swayed by money.
The Mirror quotes De Ligt as saying: “I am going to make a decision with my head, not based on money offers.
“I think some players would be tempted when they get massive offers. But compared to ordinary people I think I earn a huge wage right now, anyway.
“My next step just has to be right for me when I look at the team and where and how I will live.”

This stance is surely going to give Tottenham an advantage over the likes of Arsenal and City, as he will know that Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino gives chances to young players.
De Ligt will also have been impressed by the progress central defender Davinson Sanchez has made at Tottenham since his move from Ajax in the summer of 2017.
