Good long-term signing

De Ligt is one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, and his performances for Ajax this season have been brilliant.

There is no doubt that the youngster would be a very good signing for Tottenham, especially in the long run.

Given the Dutchman’s age, it could take him a while to adapt to the Premier League, but working under a manager like Mauricio Pochettino would see him improve and develop.

While £45m for an 18-year-old playing in the Eredivisie in the Netherlands may sound a lot, but it could pay off big time in the future.
