The alleged Tottenham Hotspur target is staying in Germany.
Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed on their official Twitter account that a deal for Matthias Ginter has been struck subject to a medical.
The 23-year-old has been strongly linked with Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with the Daily Mail claiming Spurs had opened initial discussions about a possible £18million move, while German publication Kicker claimed there was a lucrative offer on the table from Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

However, the German international has opted to remain in his homeland and, provided his medical goes smoothly, he will be a Monchengladbach player by the end of the week.
Tottenham are yet to make any new sigings this summer and their fans may be starting to get worried, especially when targets are opting to move elsewhere.
Ginter was not a necessity, with Tottenham already possessing plenty of defensive options. However his versatility and age meant he would have been a smart long-term addition as he is able to play across the back line or in a holding midfield role if required.
Some saw him as an ideal replacement for Eric Dier if the England international moved on, but Tottenham fans would much rather stick with what they have in that regard.
Now it is up to Pochettino and chairman Daniel Levy to strengthen in key areas, most notably up front and on the wing.
If Spurs add quality in those areas there is every chance they can bring some silverware back to the club.
A move for Ginter was not to be, but Tottenham will be hoping that is the only disappointment they suffer this summer.
