Wolverhampton Wanderers dropped points at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
BBC Sport pundit Matthew Upson has stated that Brighton won’t care that the Wolves fans aimed chants of ‘boring’ at them following their goalless draw on Saturday.
Chris Hughton’s side went into the match at Molineux in a seriously worrying run of form and their chances of relegation had increased after being beaten by Cardiff in midweek.
As a result, they travelled to the Midlands with a clear game plan of securing a clean sheet and picking up a point. The manner in which they were set-up and how deep they played proved that.
Speaking to Final Score on BBC One (20/04/2019 at 16:55 pm), Upson reacted to the chants of ‘boring’ by the Wolves supporters after the final whistle, which was seemingly aimed at Brighton and their style of play.
“Absolutely, not at the moment, I don’t think they’ll care about how the game went [and being called boring],” Upson told Final Score.
“A point for them in this match is like a win, especially with the game went and the pressure they soaked up and all credit to the back four, the goalkeeper and the whole team.”
Even though it is a point, the result and performance is a huge boost to Brighton staying in the Premier League for another season.
At this moment in time, they are three points ahead of Cardiff City, who occupy the final relegation spot and will host Premier League title chasers Liverpool on Sunday.
As or Wolves, their chances of finishing in the top seven have been dented somewhat as they are trying to find some form following that FA Cup semi-final defeat to Watford.
