Matthew Pennington has joined Leeds United from Everton on a season-long loan deal in the summer transfer window.
Pennington recently moved to Championship club Leeds from Premier League outfit Everton in the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old defender, who can operate as a centre-back or as a right-back, has switched to the West Yorkshire outfit on a season-long loan deal.
Pennington has explained his decision to move to Leeds, and the Everton-owned youngster has revealed that he did have other options.

“I needed to get some games under my belt after the last couple of seasons,” Pennington told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I realised in the last week or two that I’d be going on loan and once that became clear, it was a case of get out and get games which I might not get (at Everton).
“Once I knew what the plan was it was all about assessing my options. Leeds were definitely the best option for me.
“I did have other options and you think about all of it because you’ve got to make the right move but I knew this would be good for me and I wanted to come. There wasn’t any more to it. Other clubs were keen on me but you make your choice.”

Leeds needed to sign a central defender – in fact, the Championship club could do with another centre-back – and Pennington seems to be a good fit for the team.
The former England Under-19 international is very talented and hugely promising, and his determination to prove himself will be good for the Whites.
The versatility of the 22-year-old to play as a centre-back or as a right-back is also going to be important for Leeds during the 2017-18 campaign.
